Charlotte's Youth Pathways

Charlotte’s Youth Pathways is to train, employ, and empower Milwaukee’s inner-city youth by proving hands-on skills in the event service industry, while fostering responsibility, professionalism, and self-sufficiency. 

This company is targeting youth ages 16-21 in Milwaukee’s inner city; event clients including wedding, corporations, banquet halls, and individual event hosts. 

Charlotte’s Youth Pathways is designed to bridge the skills gap for young people while addressing the labor demand in Milwaukee’s event industry.  The program will teach professional event service skills, create a reliable, high-quality pool of young event staff, and support the growth of essential life skills such as responsibility, time management, and financial literacy. 

 

The program trains youth in various aspects of event service, including” 

 

Food and beverage service 

Event setup and breakdown 

Guest hosting and greeting 

Customer service skills 

The program also emphasizes financial responsibility and job professionalism.  Youth will earn money from working evens, providing both an income and the opportunity of learning financial management skills.
